'Ammunition cum Torpedo cum Missile Barge, LSAM 19', the 5th barge of 11 x ACTCM Barge project built by MSME Shipyard, M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt. Ltd., Thane for the Indian Navy, was delivered to the Navy on 04 Mar 24. Dockyard for NAD (Karanja), Mumbai. The induction ceremony was presided over by Captain Ashutosh HQWNC/ACRO.
The contract for construction of 11 The induction of these barges will accelerate IN's operational commitments by facilitating transportation of goods/ammunition, embarkation and disembarkation for IN ships both at the jetty side and at the outer port.
These barges are indigenously designed and built under the relevant naval rules and regulation of the Indian Shipping Register. Model testing of the barge was carried out at the Naval Science and Technology Laboratory, Visakhapatnam during the design phase. These barges are the proud flag bearers of the Make in India initiative of the Government of India.
